TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Refunds and Transfers. There are no refunds. Registrations are non-transferable.
Course. Starting at the Primrose Campground and ending at the Bear Creek Fire Department, the course uses a U.S. Forest Service Trail through Lost Lake in Chugach National Forest. The well-marked trail is approximately 15.75 miles cross-country with a peak elevation of 2,100 feet. The trail is in good condition overall but does have some hazardous areas.
In accordance with our U.S. Forest Service Permit, there are a limited number of participants allowed each year. Race registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Eligibility. Entrant must be classed as an amateur runner, be at least 15 years of age, and have submitted in an official entry form and liability waiver.
Bib & Chip Pickup. There are two opportunities for bib pickup:
- August 23, 2019: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the pre-race dinner (Resurrection Roadhouse, Seward Windsong Lodge)
- August 24, 2019: 7:00 am to 10:00 am at the race start, Primrose Campground, Mile 18.5 Seward Highway

Race Start. The race itself begins at 10:00 A.M. (8:00 A.M. for walkers) and at 6:30 A.M. buses will begin transporting participants from Seward High School to the starting line of the race at the Primrose Campground parking lot (Mile 17 Seward Highway). There is no parking allowed at the Primrose Campground parking lot. The last bus leaves at 9:00 A.M. so please allow yourself ample time to make this deadline. Spectators and family who want to watch the race begin at 10:00 A.M. can also use the bus transportation. The road is extremely narrow and the buses are large, so we are not able to allow drop-offs at the campground. You will need to take the bus to the start.
LAST BUS LEAVES AT 9:00 A.M. SHARP
After the Finish of the Run there will be NO transportation back to the start.
Head Phones. The trail is very narrow in spots and there are locations where the trail follows along a steep gorge. Because runners are constantly calling out to walkers as they move past them on the trail, it is necessary that each participant not have their hearing impaired in any way. Because of these safety concerns, head phones are not allowed to be worn on the course.
Dogs. Because of the safety issues raised immediately above regarding head phones, we also prohibit dogs on the course.
Pre-Race Dinner. A carbohydrate-rich dinner will be served between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Runners eat free and our non-running guests can eat for only $5.00. The location of the pre-race dinner will be announced at a later date by email.
Hazards. Rapid weather changes including precipitation of all types, wind, and temperature changes along the trail. Animals (bears, moose, stinging insects, and other vermin). Water sources, other than aid station, to be used at your own risk. Trail does contain some areas overgrown by vegetation.
Medical Aid. There will be NO medical aid stations along the run, however, weather permitting there will be a water station, with emergency supplies available at the halfway mark.

Personal Equipment. It is recommended that you carry a water container, stocking cap, gloves, and wind gear.
Rules. Each entrant must:
- Agree to the waiver of responsibility by clicking on the “Submit” button below and signing the race book at bib pickup
- Be classed as an amateur runner
- Be at least 15 years of age
- Receive a numbered bib before the run
- Wear the bib visibly on the front of their shirt when crossing the start and finish lines
- Carry out all of their garbage
- Complete the run in under 6 hours to be included with the official race results
- Walk/Run Categories. By gender and ages: under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+
Refunds. There are no refunds. Registrations are non-transferable.
Awards. Awards will be presented to the first three finishers in each run category. The location and time of the awards ceremony will be announced through email updates prior to the race.
YOU MUST HAVE A BIB TO RUN THE RACE AND RECEIVE A TIME
Respecting the Trail. The Lost Lake area is a spectacularly beautiful, yet easily accessible alpine area within the Chugach National Forest. Our goal is to continue to offer this race without impacting the trail. You can help by adhering to the following basic principals while on the trail:
- Avoid traveling on areas of the trail that are particularly fragile, or during snow melt when the trail is muddy.
- Stay on the main trail and avoid the temptation to keep your feet dry by going off trail. Walking or running outside the main trail tread breaks down the trail edge and widens it.
- Muddy stretches and snow patches should be crossed rather than skirted to avoid creating new paths.
- Hike or run on hard surfaces such as rocks or gravel wherever possible.
- Avoid hiking or running on the faint user-created trails.

I verify that I understand and agree to absolve and hold harmless the Chugach National Forest, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Lost Lake Run, Inc., and all sponsors, be they individuals or organizations, separately or collectively, of all blame for any injury, misadventure, harm, loss, or inconvenience in any of the activities associated with the said event. I assume all risks, and will assume and pay my own medical and emergency expenses in the event of an accident, illness or other capacity regardless of whether I have authorized such expenses. To participate in the Lost Lake Run, I accept all rules, conditions, and regulations and will comply with them. I am aware that a wilderness endurance run of this nature may be extremely difficult and hazardous for even well conditioned athletes under the most favorable physical conditions. I understand that I should not participate in this event unless I am in excellent condition, have trained properly and have no medical condition that could likely be worsened by vigorous physical activity or environmental stress and I am aware of the hazards and warnings listed in the run rules.
By completing this registration process, I agree to the terms and conditions as stated above and verify that the information that has been entered is correct. I also understand that all registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
